Renewable Energy Insurance
GIB identified that Renewable Energy as a sector would require us to build our capability to respond to our clients’ needs. We have for this reason formed the Renewable Energy division under the leadership of Tanya Van der Westhuizen. Tanya has over 10 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector and has placed and handled over 40 projects during her career. These projects have in some instances required detailed financial close with the attendant requirements, as well as projects that were completely financed off the balance sheet of the clients. Furthermore, Tanya has developed a niche in the handling of rooftop installations and this burgeoning sector holds some exciting potential going forward. The new legislation surrounding the 100 MW plant regulations also holds great potential going forward. Tanya is spearheading the strategy and will work as part of our dedicated team nationally as well as tying into the extensive core of construction experts in GIB Group to ensure that we can provide a team of experts who can effectively respond to client’s needs.
Tanya will work together with the extensive global network partners, to provide transparent and effective access to the global markets. These partners draw on a vast pool of specialists in both placement and advisory capacities. They have successfully handled and settled some of the most complex and high value claims in the sector globally.
