• 1982 - Establishment of GIB.
• 1983 - GIB became a SAFSIA member, which membership continues.
• 1986 - GIB became a fully tribunalised broker at Lloyds.
• 1987 - GIB established a specialist Marine Insurance broking company.
• 1990 - GIB formed a specialist Construction and Engineering Insurance broking company.
• 1992 - GIB established a Life and Investments Insurance broking consultancy.
• 1993 - GIB formed a specialist Aviation Insurance broking company.
• 1995 - GIB formed an Employee Benefits company.
• 1996 - GIB entered the Agricultural insurance market with major success.
• 1997 - GIB was appointed as South Africa’s representative for the global AssurexGlobal Group.
• 1998 - GIB formed a specialist Medical Aid broking company.
• 2001 - GIB moved to its new corporate Headquaters in Houghton, Johannesburg.
• 2003 - GIB Group concluded its broad based BEE initiative.
• 2004 - GIB established ICE, the market leader in insurance compliancy and education.
• 2004 - GIB Kwa-Zulu Natal was acquired.
• 2005 - GIB Cape established.
