The GIB Group has undertaken
several social responsibility programmes within
our various operating companies. These programmes
are primarily aimed at the upliftment and
wellbeing of historically disadvantaged people
and societies.
At Group level we set goals for our various
operating companies with a view to instilling
a social responsibility consciousness throughout
our Group. Examples of some of the programmes
we have undertaken are.
- GIB Group
has assumed the chairmanship of the Business
Section of the Norwood Community Police
Forum. Our responsibilities are all-encompassing
but, in particular, the resolution of matters
surrounding security of people and properties
is paramount.
- GIB executives have
made themselves available to provide teaching
to students of CIDA college which was established
for the education and development of historically
disadvantaged youth in the Gauteng area.
- Every year the GIB
Group selects one black female matriculant
for a 12 month learnership programme with
full company benefits and salary.
- Every year GIB selects
one black male graduate for a 12 month learnership
with full company benefits and salary.
- With a view to assisting
SME’s in the financial segment, GIB
has established a company to take charge
of their compliancy and educational requirements,
thereby allowing the SME’s to trade
in a fully compliant environment.
